Truly High End Chinese Pens

So I was browsing Peyton street pens the other day and I saw the loinminchay pens and thought, how many truly high end chinese pens are there?

I then did some research and found a few.

I then decided I should create a thread dedicated to truly high end pens from China. Feel free to post pictures and links. Requirements for it to be considered truly high end:

No steel nibebd Jinhaos, kaigelus officials any of the such modern brands out of China, unless it is something truly special. A guideline could be more than 65$ (sorry)

No basic Hero 100s

These are guidelines however as there are very nice Jinhaos out there

I understand that when the Chinese want a high end pen, they buy a Parker. The Sonnet seems to be particularly preferred.

loimingchay is a very expensive brand with multiple origin.Nibs are german as the silver pens. The company address is in New york city and the pen bodies and decoration I believe are chinese .Their client service is non available, after several e mails I lost contact about a repair of one of their pens. Nice design only.

There are some very luxurious Chinese pens. Comparable to other pens with the same precious metal and jewelry content, they have represented a bargain that is largely unknown in the US. In the over $800 range you can find ostentatious delights, that clearly establish a person's position in the pecking order, including such things as beautifully crafted jade pens. There is a market for status defining objects, a step above the Parker mark, in China.

I suspect some of these sales may count:

Duke:

In fact there are a number here: http://stores.ebay.com/jojopenshop/FOUNTAIN-PEN-/_i.html?rt=nc&_fsub=1297445014&_sid=786442034&_sticky=1&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14&_sop=16&_sc=1 And - amazing - none of them are Parker. To be honest, none of the Parker LE pens (except the solid gold Duofold Senior) are up there pricewise.

Most of them are somewhat above my touch.

Also do an e-bay search for the Hero 2009 and Hero 3000. They should satisfy from the 'Bling' point of view, and the anti-microbial Hero 2199 from the 'Strange, but True' category.

Regards,

Richard.

I find it amusing how he has awarded himself with his own special ebay sellers rank.

Yep.

Nothing quite like total self belief is there? It's what makes the contestants in 'The Apprentice' quite so repulsive.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
