Here is the direct link. I can not even begin to consider it. They even have Extra fine as a choice and besides green striation, black with gold trim. I am all fountain penned out for the month, but, WoW!

I know, this one is killing me. It's an extremely good price for this one.

I picked up a M800 just recently and was amazed at how smoothly it wrote with out any fuss at all. They really do hand check each of their pens before they go out.

I really want one of these but can't afford it right now.

Hopefully if it quickly sells out we can hit the request button to have it come back at a later date.

I'm not willing to spend that much - even at that good a price - on a pen I haven't held. Need to examine one before I buy. It'll be back if it's that good a price.

Luckily for me I have tiny hands, so I think the m1000 would be too much pen for me to handle. Otherwise I'd be very tempted. I love my Pelikans.

I agree on this one. I love my M400 and have tried out the larger Pelikans as a result but the M1000 was too big for my taste. The Massdrop price is a good one, though.

I'm with you, the m400 is my ideal size. I don't think I'll venture beyond it. It's an attractive deal, though!

Those searching for good deals on the M1000 should also have a look on amazon.de (using google translate for those - myself included - who don't speak German). The pen is often listed at around 380 Euro. When being shipped outside the EU VAT is reduced making it even cheaper.

Will these ship from the U.S.? I'm guessing so as the purchase price is quoted in USD. Nice price but I'm thinking of potential customs charges.

I believe Massdrop has items shipped to them- and then they ship out individual orders themselves. Not sure about customs fees or anything like that, though.

I like large pens and recently bought an m1000 (mainly for the nib) but even for me it is too large for long periods of writing. Having said that, the long section is really comfortable.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
