Sheaffer Imperial Triumph?

I usually don't purchase restored pens for more than $50, depending on what the pen is. I saw this set on Etsy last night, and picked it up for $70. I believe it is the Imperial Triumph, not the Imperial Masterpiece (which would be a welcome surprise). I hope I got a good deal? It will need some TLC to get it up to punching weight.

Of course, you're much more likely to use the Imperial Triumph than you would the Masterpiece. I have one of each, as well as a Sterling silver Imperial Triumph. The silver one gets used and the two gold ones mostly sit in the drawer. Although, that's probably because the silver one has the best nib. But they're all great pens and wonderful writers and I'm sure yours will be too once you get it that TLC. Great deal for the set, by the way.

It need not be a masterpiece for me to be happy. Its more of an icing on the cake situation.

No doubt "icing on the cake" is something we all would like but my observation was based on the element of doubt you raised and in line with your own thoughts. While the sellers pictures leave a lot to be desired there is nothing to suggest your initial identification is incorrect, my observations simply reflect your own views. The pattern would seem to be a standard lined pattern as found on gold plated models, the plain end cap also supports that observation. Being wrong is part of the course with Sheaffer, hopefully for you I am !!
