Hello guys!

 

i was few TG1 topics, but not discussion about TG1 colors.

 

On the Pelikan web page I found that there are two colors of TG1 ink, royal blue and brilliant black.

 

Some time ago I contact Pelikan company and ask for difference between TG1 and regular 4001 ink (they said it is same ink, just special edition bottle), but they did not mention any other color than royal blue and brilliant black.

 

Recently I found Pelikan gift box with ink. Ink is TG1, but it looks more light than Royal blue. Maybe it is just the photo, but look at the sticker, it is also different color. Also some sellers on internet sells it as Black blue. Is there Black blue in TG1 bottle? Are there other colors in TG1 bottle?

My Pelikan inks in those great bottles was the first to disintegrate. Watch out for any signs of particles. It never had mold or any slime, but it had little clots that were probably blotches of dye. Anyway, just check it out before using.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I will check it before buying. Did same thing ever happened to you with Pelikan 4001 ink in regular bottles?

The 4001 ink all clumped over time, but the little bottles were older, so I think it just happened to them first because I bought them first.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
