Diamine Hope Pink

Well this is my very first bottle of eye-searing pink, even though I am a Super-Pink. I was looking for a good pink for mixing for a long while now, and after looking at slews of reviews, I decided that this is the one for me. Well, the ink finally came about 5 days ago, so here is a review.

This review will follow my normal standard format for reviews, with pictures following a small blurb. The pictures were taken with an iPhone 6, back camera, in artificial lighting. Effort has been made to show the true color, but your milage may vary depending on your monitor. If you would like to see all my ink images, you are free to go to http://files.goviralforyou.com/Inks/Reviews

Here is a preview of the ink.

The review was written with my favorite, the Nemosine Singularity Demonstrator, in a TWSBI B nib. The TWSBI B is slightly finer than the Nemosine B, but not by much. It's only a hairline difference.

The review was written on HP 32lb Premium Laser Paper, which can be found at Staples for the whooping price of $19.99, or on Amazon for $15.39. This is my new "standard" paper I will be using for all my reviews, writing, and comparisons. I still have a bit of HP 28lb, which is now discontinued, but I am going to be moving to this one now, as it is much better, IMO.

Here is the swab of the ink.

The ink is a very vibrant and saturated ink. It is also extremely bright, but still quite readable in full pages. It would be very good for markups. The ink behaves very well. It is quite wet and lubricating. There is minimal shading, which is extremely subtle. It goes from a pink to a darker pink. There is no feathering, bleed through, or show through. There was no dry smear.

The ink dries on par with other inks, averaging at roughly 15 seconds. Not the fastest, but still is fine.

Here is a poorly drawn ghost to show how the ink looks with sketching, and coloring.

Here is a water test. The top grid had drops of water placed for 10 seconds, then vigorously wiped downwards. The bottom text did not receive any drops of water and was only wiped with in the same motion as the grid. The ink was average in this field. There is definitely some lifting of the ink in the grid, but it is still visible. There is a good amount of wet smear, but it's not the worst.

Lastly, here is a scan of the review. Use the scan to read the rest of the review. I did not intend for it to show color accuracy. The pictures are the most accurate representation of the color.

That's all folks! I would give this ink a 8.5/10. If you liked this review, stay tuned for more to come!

I would like to see this one compared with Iro Kosumosu. They look very similar to me.

The praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards.

Well I don't exactly have that Iro ink, so I'll be using a Goulet swab on that. Here are those two side by side.

I conclude that the Iro ink is a tad bit lighter and less saturated than the Diamine one.

Thanks for the review. Pink is not really one of my colors, although I will be buying some Mont Blanc Pink—those MB inks tend to draw me in. This appears to be a very straightforward pink ink.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Thank you for the review. I'm not a "pink" person, but I may need to pick this one up. I have a magenta, but no real "pink." I need something nice and bright and cheerful (this has been a blah spring, cold and wet and now I'm fighting a cold, so cheerful is needed!) and I think this will fit the bill.

Great review.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Excellent review. I have this ink and although I'm not into pink I really enjoy this ink. It goes into my spring/summer rotation and most often gets used for quick notes, highlighting, lists and short paragraphs.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
