90th ANNIVERSARY CELLULOID SET
“We want people to experience handwriting as a life value”

The origin of our vision comes from the origin of OMAS itself directly. Exactly 90 years ago, on June 15, 1925, Armando Simoni founded in Bologna Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni. Thus was made OMAS, workshop that would become in later years one of the most significant expressions of "made in Italy" and prestigious player of high-end writing instruments.
The set celebrating the 90th Anniversary dedicated to Armando Simoni, has been therefore made with the same passion of our Founder.
Created by hand entirely in celluloid, the set is composed by 3 The Paragon Vintage piston filling fountain pens, designed by Armando Simoni in 1931.

The Saft Green celluloid with its 18K Gold nib in EF size, the Scarlet Red celluloid with its 18K Gold nib in B size and the celluloid Radica with its 14K Gold Extra Flexible nib in M size, are decorated by the exclusive engraving on the nib representing the 90th Anniversary logo.

The exclusive Limited and Numbered 90 Sets are enriched, for the first time, by 9 rings pinched by hands, placed to celebrate the nine decades of history.

Gorgeous and very tempting!

Do the pens come only with the nibs described. For example, can one get one of the pens with an italic nib?

Oh no! Just when my budget was recovering from the LA Pen Show and starting to get ready for DC!

Is there any special packaging on this set?

I dont think Italic was an option… But We are trying to get different nibs besides the ones that are "supposed" to go on them here in the US at least…

Or all 3?

Yes. It is indeed a slippery slope. :o

But this is easier to understand if you realize that the Italian term for this is "Sindrome OMAS di Acquisizione di Penne Stilografiche," better known by the acronym: SOAPS. :lticaptd:

Damn! I was trying to be good, but it's useless!

At least I don't feel a need for all three - one would be just right :)

The (relatively, I suppose) good news is that, with the USD being so strong against the EUR now, prices from Novelli (x-VAT for non-EU buyers) are extremely attractive.

Plus, Marco is just a pleasure to work with.

I recently found a 1993 NOS Extra in this saft green. Very handsome celluloid.

I'm in the same financial boat as many of the rest of you. But I made a mistake and talked to Bryant. I was weak.

You know the rest.

The other great thing about buying from Marco (in addition to USD-EUR exchange now producing an effective 40% discount), is that he will ship via FedEx for what domestic US shippers charge for slow-as-molasses, run-over-your-box-with-our-brown-truck shipping. I love a global economy.

Beautiful pens, I will have to work them into the budget. I have been to the Novelli Store, but have never had them send me anything. the above comments are helpful.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

It's just a matter of common courtesy and respect for the customer, really, For a set at this price, I'd want the assurance that I either needed to sign for the package, or I could have it sent to a nearby FedEx location where it would be held securely until I stopped by to pick it up, rather than having a guy in brown shorts just toss it on my porch, regardless of whether I was even in town that day or week.

You all know about "Ready, Fire, Aim?" I've ordered (only) the one in Burl wood with a B nib. I'll work on the budget by n bye.

Dear David,

sorry for my late reply. The italic nib is not produced for this edition, sorry, on EF 18kt, M 14kt and B 18kt.

Please let me know if interested in any of them.

Thank you for your positive feedback about my service and prices, the current exchange rate 1 EURO=1.06 USD is making very convenient buying from my shop.

Please contact me for any further information about this collection

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
