Hi Fountain pen friends !

After seeing this beautiful material I really couldn't resist in making a prototype..

What do you think, should Conid launch the next L.E King-size in this material ?

Look forward hearing your opinion !

Regards, Francis

Now we're talking B) The swirling colours remind me of some of the lovely patterns on my vintage UHU pens (which work, thanks to you Francis :notworthy1:), and as for that nib! :puddle: :puddle: What size is it?

Great to see the Bulkfiller range being expanded in such a way. Lovely pen Francis. Congratulations.

Oh that's beautiful. Reminds me of a cross between wood grain and chocolate syrup being mixed into a big glass of milk. In a good way, obviously!

Will it have a flexible Waterman nib? If so, sign me up!

Lovely material, but...

... more celluloids please Francis!!!

I surely understand, I'm eager to find celluloid barstock, but unfortunately no success yet.

Celluloid acetate is easier to find, but this is not "the real" stuff…...

Unfortunately this is a nib coming from a pen of my personal collection...

The nibs Waterman used on their "100 year" and "Emblem" pens fit perfectly in the Kingsize.

So if you can source one, no problem !

While not a fan of this stock, I am a huge fan of the idea of more variety in pen materials.

Thanks, I was afraid of that.

Francis, how about an acrylic or celluloid akin to the Omas Lucens (I believe Coneay Stewart had one) - partly transparent and partly opaque. That would eliminate the need for a window, show off some of the mechanism and, above all, look cool as hell!

Too many pens; too little writing.

I thought the next LE would be the new CAISO system Bulkfiller, with Einstein and 100 years of relativity theme? I don't see how this material fits the theme but maybe this would be a separate LE...?

Other than that, cappuccino looks nice.

I fully agree, this is stunning celluloid !

CONID would love getting this beautiful celluloid , but I expect Omas will not sell it to a competitor.

Do you - or anyone else - have an idea were we can find this - or other - celluloid bar stock?

We would be very grateful !

Francis

Hi Tojusi,

You are fully right, the next LE will be the CAISO version.

However it is not decided yet in which material the CAISO will be made, although Conid would prefer a nice celluloid….

It is neither decided if Conid will start making the Kingsize in the Cappuccino acrylic, so a lot of questions can't be answered right away...

Hi Francis,

Great to see that interest in your fabulous pens remains high.

Is there to be a production run of Kingsize Demonstrators with the new caiso system soon?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
