I'd like to sign up for 1 pen in acrylic.

I would like it with a transparent acrylic barrel (a la demonstrator) and I would like to be an M nib.

I hope this can be arranged.

Thank you.

will check if the same can be done...

For the record, ASA bulletin had this today -

Our customers have suggested creation of hooded nib fountain pen. One of our customers Mr. Vaibhav is spearheading the Group Buy at FPN. The link is:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/284720-asa-pens-group-buy-india/

We have noted this initiative by our amazing customers. As this is a project from scratch and prototype would be needed for refining purpose, we need some weeks to finalize the pen. However, what we would like to state is that those who put in their name at the Group Buy page on FPN would get the pen at bargain price - which would be lesser than the regular price. As all costing and pricing needs to be arrived, we cannot predict exact price, but we can only say that we believe the price would be reasonable, The pen can be made in full ebonite (in regular ebonite colors offered on our site), as well as having a transparent acrylic barrel.

I put my savings to test

Lamy & Pilot FPs the Best

No more I even think of the rest

Pen is meant for writing - not for looking :-)

Congratulations! As I am not at the moment interested in another hooded pen, I bowed out of this group, but I'm following developments with interest, and if an open nib pen will be done like this, I hope to be part of it. Meanwhile, the second spin off is continuing apace...

Some time ago I asked Mr.S about the possibility of a pen that can use Nikko G nibs. I don't want to muddy the waters here but perhaps that could be a follow up pen, if people are interested.

I might be, if he supplied the nibs, too.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
