Hello guys,

I am a newbie in this Fountain pen network.

Normally, I use the Waterman florida blue as my standard blue ink but from time to time, i feel bored with this blue shade.

So I find my a new blue shade ink. Consequently, I read many reviews in Internet and also bought several blue inks.

Last Monday, i ordered the Visconti blue ink and I want to share my comparison to you guys.

Here is information on my comparison.

Pen: Pelikan m605,405, 140 and Rotring Newton.

Ink: Waterman florida blue, Visconti blue, Private reserve American blue, Private reserve DC supershow blue, Rohrer & klinger royal blue.

Paper: Clairfontaine 90g/m2

Enjoy!

Welcome and thanks for the lovely comparison.

Visconti is my fave out of those, although I am tempted to pop a bottle of the R&K in the cart next time I place a Writing Desk order.

Which is your favourite?

Thank you for this comparison. I've been considering a bottle of Visconti Blue, and this is certainly helpful. Any comments on how these inks compare when it comes to being waterproof?

Thank you Graphophile !!

Actually, I like the blue shade of Noodler' bay state blue and try to find an alternative.

I also ordered Pilot Asa gao but unfortunately, it may take 2 more weeks until it arrives Germany.

For now, I will stay with PR American blue as my favorite. :)

By the way,I think the design of Visconti inkwell is cool but it is not so practical, and it should not be Plastic :( )

Hallo guys,

I want to update the comparison of my blue inks. Last week, I got a wonderful Pilot iroshizuku Asa-gao.

So I did the further comparison on my last work.

Personally, I like Pilot Asa-gao very much, I think it is more lively than Visconti blue. :)

enjoy !!

Nice comparison. You've got a good collection of pens and ink there. Fountain Pen Fun is what this site is all about.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Hello bone215,

I suppose that you mean flow of these inks.

I personally feel that the flow of these inks are almost the same. :)

Fabulous shading on the Visconti, at a price though. R&K is a personal favourite. It is cheerful and has a wet flow in a B nib on my EDC Kaweco Sport.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
