What Is This Waterman Fountain Pen?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

This pen is one I have had for a while, and really like. I was recently planning on doing a review on it on FPN, but I realised I don't actually know what it is called!

Any help would be appreciated.

Exclusive and IMHO one of the nicest pens and nibs made by Waterman.

That is indeed a gorgeous pen.

I think I'll need to be keeping an "eye out" :puddle:

I have a Laureat that looks similar-ish, and is a great pen, but that's a stunner, especially in the red marble.

Oh yes indeedy......... Those are magnif

The blue is a real "standout" too.

I'm not normally a big blue pen fan, however, there are exceptions.

After getting the red Laureat I want a blue one as well, and now I have another blue pen to add to my list, and not forgetting the red one as well, of course..Hahaha.

Further to the above just last night a pen auction ended for an Exclusive Cognac advertised local to me. It allowed me to pre inspect the pen (Monday) before bidding then popping along this morning to pay and collect it. Fortunately £25 can still buy a nice quality pen. It has none of the sometimes typical corrosion on the nib ring, no scratches or marks, in fact it is mint and probably unused, with its original box and converter. It was donated to a local childrens hospice for sale.

Stop it........Please.

That's a gorgeous pen, and I'm now an odd shade of green.

I don't have anywhere around here where opportunities like yours arise, and have to rely on ebay.

As far as I know there is 1 "The pen shop" within 50 miles and that's it.

Auctions etc, I have no idea.

I think I'll need to be looking into Glasgow auction houses and see how they work, and see if I can "snag" one.

I have quite big fingers, but I don't mind slimmer pens, I prefer heavy pens if the truth be told, but If a pen looks like that, then, hey, my chubby mitts can adapt.

£20 ($30) I would have had a dabble but the seller did not answer my question.

The seller has just replied, sorry pen has now sold and it had no chips or scratches and was like new...... if only the description had said so.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
