Identifying Problem, National Pen (Sub Brand) Or Eclipse?

Hi,

 

I'm trying to put a name on this nice set. I am pretty sure I saw this particular lever previously but cannot remember the brand. I have the impression it was either Eclipse or one of National sub-brands, I would appereciate any info. Thank you in advance.

I have seen that lever on Eclipse pens.

Thank you very much, Daniel. I thought so since the shape of the "imprint" is the same but instead of Eclipse name in it there is kind of zig-zag. I am however not sure if Eclipse ever used this particular color of celulloid.

Eclipse made pens and pencils in a huge range of finishes, so I am not altogether surprised. The pencil, by the way, also matches the shape and configuration of Eclipse products.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
