Hello,

Please can anyone tell me if Pilot Grance nib and Pilot Custom Heritage 92 nib are the same size?

I just love Pilot Grance nib design but I am not a big fan of the rest of the pen; I would like to buy the pen to fit the nib on my Pilot Heritage 92.

Thanks!

Grance has the size 3 nib. the 92 has the size 5 nib so they will not interchange. HTH.

Thanks for the info... So I'll discard that option. I still might get the Grance in one of the lacquered version. The nib is really gorgeous with its art nouveau stamped pattern.

I have one more question concerning swapping Pilot components: do you know if the barrel of the Custom Grandee in wood can fit on the section of the Celemo?

unless the nib collar fits which is beyond me... so no thats the closest thing I can say your stuck with very few options of legno, stella90s and the custom 98

Thanks, I didn't know about these pens... The Legno is particularly appealing to me and it will be hard to resist not to get one.

Is the #3 Pilot 14k nib the same size as the stainless steel nib used on the Prera and the Metropolitan?

nope from the close ups of the stella90s AKA stargazer from some of the reviews it just looks like the gold nib but smaller but not the same ones with the wing fold design as the Pilot Custom or Pilot Celemo

Hi, from reading, it seems you know how to remove the nib from Grance. I have a Grane with M nib and want to swap it, but having hard time taking the nib out. Definitely not the same way removing a 78G or Kakuno, I tried with caution and the Grance nib didn't even move.

Would you be able to help?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
