As mentioned, however, we're in the test phase - there still are some teething problems right now.

Wimg, any chance of these inks appearing at the Long Island Pen Show next month? (She asked hopefully, eagerly, and wishfully.)

I am afraid I don't think we wlll manage that. It was a 6 hour drive for Amberlea to LA, I reckon it will be even more travel the other way, up North :).

Also, we can't really afford all those trips to be very honest. It puts a serious dent in our budget, obviously, and we can't really expect for our volunteers to pay out of their own pocket for these trips, as most if not all of their time would be taken up for representing FPN.

Do note that all we get from donations, inks, pens (the few we have left), advertising and premium accounts all goes straight into the out of pocket costs we have to make to keep FPN running.

And although we had a very good month this February, thanks to our supporters here, that still gave us only enough income to cover for 3 months of running costs.

Sorry....

Warm regards, Wim

FPN inks are available now. They are soldthrough the FPN support site. At the top of the page, third link over "Support FPN". Go there and select the inks tab. Current inks are a permanent brown, a dark purple, and a dark blue. The descriptions on the page are far more eloquent.

No. I checked the fpn marketplace under the heading inks. They are not showing to be available to purchase. If I understood correctly, the inks will be sold through the marketplace this time.

Anyone with other info?

Carl

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that... but I've seen several posts from Amber, saying they're available, and now this post from a donor saying he has bottles in hand. =/ Kinda curious here.

BILLF answered this best.

Anyway, all orders that have paid for the ink and shipping (except for the SuperPinks) have been packaged and mailed out. I have a member (or two) that will need to pay shipping. I've tried to add an invoice in the software system, but I'm not sure the system sent out an email reminder. Anyway, if you were at the LA Show you got to see these in action.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The red colour has been withdrawn temporarily, due to materials supply problems. We tried to get before the LA Pen Show, but everything worked against us when it came to deliveries.

What we will do now, is follow the normal process. This means that we will start a label design competition as soon as we know how the final ink will look like.

Currently, inks are only available to FPN Supporters and to premium account holders.

I've been waiting for the inks to be released so as to see the prices to decide what level I want to join at (money is quite tight for me, so it matters). But how to do so if the pricing and shipping is only visible after joining?

We're still in the testing phase for the store, one that has settled, we will make an official announcement. Supporters will get a discount on the inks, however.

When I click on the "List" in your message I get a list format display of the inks. When I click on the "Grid" I get a grid format. I wonder if your browser has an issue? At any rate, if those two links are presented to you as clickable, try them. I do not see that presentation when I go there with Firefox.

Hi Bill,

You are an FPN Supporter, which is why you can see the store, and you can actually change between grid and listing layout, default currently is grid layout.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
