Cause I have, although not on bayflay but I bid on what I thought was a rather nice sheaffer, turns out it is 3 pens in one.

Turns out the body is a conklin indura symetric like this one http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0177/1678/products/vp4241_conklin_black_sym_1_large.jpg?v=1364586047
With a sheaffer touchdown nib exactly like this one sheaffer_snorkel_saratoga_ef-nib_snorkel
and with the cap of a parker 51ish cap, but it looks like a fake one to me, since I do not recall parker ever having the feathers running parallel to the arrow itself.

So being sonmeone who likes pens to be with the same body if possible, looks like I will be on the look out for a conklin nib and a sheaffer touchdown body and feed :P .

Well I have built quite a few, but I bought this one very recently: a French-made Stephens button-filler fitted with an Osmia Supra nib; and very nice it is too.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
