Hakase And New Danitrio

Hooligan

Recommended Posts

I just paid my last payment on my green Celluloid Hakase with a fine nib so I should be getting it soon

I can't wait

Then another little surprise came my way

I have a Danitrio brown celluloid pen and wanted the blue grey model

I found it and bought it to complete the Cum Laude set

In my humble opinion the cumlaude is one of best collectable Danitrio models you can get

Awesome quality at a even better price

Theses pens were handmade from Italian celluloid and were big too

They are just beautiful

I fitted my brown pen with a vintage 14kt gold nib I had tuned by Masuyama

I will also fit the blue one with a gold nib

The quality of these pens far out way their price and it is usually found in pens costing much more

Thank you for your comments Hooligan :)

I would be very interested to see pictures of your pens, writing samples and of course a detailed description of your Hakese experience when the pen arrives - i can but devolve some vicarious pleasure through the experiences of others where Hakese is concerned!

Hooligan, I recently attempted an internet search for the Hakasa web site, but I could not find anything. Can you provide me with a valid web site address for Hakasa? I really need the help.

Hi Hooligan,

I'm also anxiously waiting for my green Celluloid Hakase.

Should be ready in February 2015.

Believe me, I know how you feel.

A Danitrio is also on my shortlist.

Looking forward to see some pictures and a review.

Take care.

Bram

I have 4 of the "consumer grade" Dani Trio pens -- two Cum Laude and two Tosca. All but one Tosca are of the Italian celluloid, and are simply beautiful.

The last Tosca is the one you will have to pry from my cold dead hand. It is of mottled green ebonite, and is simply a joy to hold. I've been looking for the other colors of Tosca ebonite pens for several years, with no luck. I even emailed Kevin, but by the time I got around to it, he had no stock remaining.

Anybody know where I can find any ebonite Tosca's?

With Hakase, you pay for half your order shortly after confirmation of your purchase and the other half about a month before your pen is set to be delivered.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
