Can The Mb Princess Grace Be Fitted With A Convertor?

Hi, I love the look of the MB Princess Grace fountain pen, but it is listed as cartridge-only.

Can these pens take any sort or convertor (including third party ones) please? I really wouldn't want to be restricted to just using MB inks and in particular, I'd want to use Akkerman's loveky Parkpop Purple in this pen if I bought it.

I recent,y had more bad news regarding my health recently and feel like splashing out money I couldn't normally afford to spend, and I have always lusted after this pen as I don't have any other overly-girly ones!

Thank you!

UK-based pen fan. I love beautiful ink bottles, sealing wax, scented inks, and sending mail art. Also, thanks to a wonderful custom-ground nib by forum member Bardiir, I'm currently attempting calligraphy after years of not being able to do so due to having an odd pen-grip :D

As far as I know, the diva line don't take converters. There is not enough space. You can simply refill an empty mb cartridge with you own ink and a syringe.

Well, I am not sure about the princess grace pen line but Montblanc also list the Starwalker as "cartridge" only no converter but I purchased a Viscoti Converter which fits just fine and have not had an issue in the three years it has been.

But then I have a Montblanc Bohemé fountain pen marked as "cartridge" only and it truly is because it is a very compact pen.

I do not have this pen to test out but from the photos I have seen I do not know why a converter cannot be made to work.

Because of available space inside the pen. You would need a really short and narrow converter. Not impossible, but nothing from MB would fit as far as I know. Maybe there is a third party option.

My Dietrich will not even take standard cartridges as they are to broad at the tip.

Won't even take standard cartridges? Like the international size cartridge that MB sells? What does fit then?

I had to use MB cartridges instead of some others I had (I think from Private Reserve). I honestly don't have a lot of cartridges add I tend to buy piston fill pens. I think the MB cartridges get narrower towards the tip, like with a step.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
