At least they're being open that it's a counterfeit.

I reported a pen to eBay 2 days ago that was purporting to be genuine - Im hoping eBay withdrew it from sale.

Well, I pity those, who thought a pen with such crude workmanship (as visible in the photos, especially on the nib), could be an original.

Yea that is a really bad fake and the box is the usual fake too. They didn't even list it as the right fake model lol

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Why do these people making fakes not fake some of the LE pens instead of some of the hideous "never been a Montblanc that looks like this" pens. Not that I'm advocating the fakes, I just don't understand that aspect.

Oh I'm sure they do but there's more people looking for the more common models and they don't have as many details and materials to use and try to make look good.

They do. They make fake Kafka RB's, many fake Shaw FP's, BP's and RB's, and Jules Verne FP's, BP's and RB's in lots of different colours.

The best.....I received this gift when completing my Masters but it's too precious. You just spent 75k getting a Master's degree and the $200 ballpoint is making you sweat?

$5 says his degree is as legit as his pen.

Ironically enough on the bottom of that fake listing was another listing that other people viewed for yet another fake pen. States it part of the Cruise collection but image is of a horrible fake Starwalker.

Link

Condition:

Mint condition, always kept in storage, has a small chip on the bottom of the pen, very slight scratches.

All that's missing is, was run over by family car. LOL

Oh my gosh that made me laugh!! Nowhere even near the right model and the "used mint condition" along with the "gone through a garbage disposal" look in the pictures haha. I've seen new fakes being sold but it's sad to see a used one which means someone has owned this thing thinking it's a real MB this whole time. I bet it was a real car that ran over it though!

Now at £117 with 14 hours to go

As more than one of us have reported this fake to ebay, I wonder how long they will let it go on for before pulling it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
