Are People Getting Their Goulet Pens "back In Stock" Notifications?

I am getting NEITHER back in stock notices and/or notification of arrival of Pilot CH 912.

So, if you have stuff you are interested that is either out of stock or waiting for arrivals, I suggest you go to their site and check. Not kicking them while they are down (that would be too easy), just letting my fellow FPN friends know.

Cheers.

p.s. or you could get if for the same price and have a noted NM tune it for you. just saying....

When I re-upped for the Ink Drop when it became available on 12/1, I also went back in and re did my wish list items, deleting everything I had entered on the old website and adding them back on the new. I simply chalked it up to incompatibilities between the new and the old.

But now I am thinking that the Pilot CH 912 you are looking for is a model that only became available AFTER they did the switch.... What nib option are you looking for? What has GPC told you about the situation?

I was looking at the SU/STUB nib.

After 3 unanswered posted questions and 2 emails, I am done chasing anybody.

This is a shame. They were my "go-to," vendor, and my first 3 sales not long in the game.

They also did away with 3 gift sets I had planned on purchasing, one for my myself, and one for each of my nieces.

They said they won't be able to reinstate those for a couple months....as in after the holiday season.

They will be a source for information and they will no doubt see more of my money, but probably not anytime soon. Truth be told, I am sad for them. All part and parcel of owning a business and hindsight is 20/20, right?

It would have been nice to have received some responses to my questions and emails, but they are busy, and I understand.

There is always a silver lining.

I got my Lamy 2k from Pen Chalet for $30 cheaper due to BF sale (GPC had none) and it is a smooth as silk writer.

Tomorrow I leave for Taiwan and Japan, so I will be able to actually write with a Pilot, Sailor, and Platinum pens before buying, as well as seeing and trying Iro and Sailor inks before buying for cheaper than here, and paper galore. Life could be worse, right?

I'm sitting pretty "write now" (see what I did there?) and my odyssey is just about to begin.

Things work out just the way they are supposed to and the Goulets will land on their feet. They work too hard not to. My complaints about customer service, over-priced exclusives, and the demise of gift sets are but whispers in the wind.

Btw, if one were to check my posts on here, FB, and on the Goulet site, they would find reviews of a happy customer who was more than happy to sing their praises far and wide and they got 5 strikes from me, not 3.

You can't make everybody happy all the time, I get it, and more importantly, I accept it. But you don't let your regulars languish in the wind either. I guess the reason I am stunned is that my experiences have been the exact opposite in the past. Sort of reminds me of Mary Tyler Moore in "Ordinary People." She's lovely, but not good in a crisis, and the closer you get, the more apparent it becomes. A little over the top you say? They still haven't made it possible to get a close up of one product. My complaints are small compared to their issues that still need to be addressed.

If I didn't care and hadn't done my part (they shouldn't have to be mind-readers, nobody should), I wouldn't be as vexed as I am.

I don't consider this bashing, I consider it sharing my experience. In the grand schemata tootsie pops and doodles are forgotten and what remains is how a vendor makes you feel when things are all said and done. I only wish I had time to chase anything anybody right now, never mind a vendor to take my money, but I don't.

This is also an inevitability the longer one is around. No one vendor can be all things, to all people, all the time.

Cheers to all and happy hunting!

whom are you emailing? the "info" address? Are you using the contact form? from Goulet I usually hear back about 24 hours after I post the question (in a contact form, on the old website). Goulets did say that after just a few days (that first weekend of the changeover) they were behind about 500 emails. Maybe a phone call would be quicker for you.

Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear this! We are just battling all kinds of issues. A lot are getting resolved, still a lot more to tackle. We've been getting most emails okay but I know of some folks who are getting bouncebacks. I keep looking into our DNS settings and I can't figure out where it's going wrong. Another website bug is the email notifications that aren't going out for certain products (specifically, any pen that has a nib size in a drop-down... standalone products seem to be working okay) and I'm working around the clock trying to prioritize and get these issues resolved. And the close-up of images you mentioned. It's all being worked on. So I am really sorry for the Custom 912 emails and any other notifications that folks didn't get. I really am. It really makes me sad because I know our reputation is taking a deep hit from all this, despite every best effort on my part.

We're close to caught up with our emails and Contact Us form submissions, so I'm wondering how we possibly missed 5 different contact submissions! I don't know your real name or email from here, so would you mind shooting me an email personally so I can look into it with our customer service team? I really want an opportunity to try to make things right, or at the very least figure out what went wrong. This is not reflective of the level of customer service that we strive for, and I really am sorry.

MrsG, you are awesome. Struggling with WordPress fun of my own and I know exactly how awful it is when one issue cascades across the site after the techies swear they're compatible. Hang in there.

Rachel, I know from EXPERIENCE that is not the case, and sometimes, such as in this case, you raised the bar so high, when there is a ripple, it seems bigger than it is........I just feel like while I know they were far from intended, they just all hit me at once just before I am scrambling for holiday gifts. Where else would I go to first? The place where I bought my first pen and learned a TON. I was hoping to get a Pilot CH 912 and probably would have received it by now and filled out two reminders and got none. It literally pushed me over the edge. It was like the 5th things in a row. Small compared to your current woes, I know, but I am reeling trying to play catch up.

I will reach out to you when I get back from my trip and hopefully things will be sorted. I also agree with Ghost Plane, you are awesome. I am prepping for a 4AM HUSTLE for a 6AM flight, halfway around the world. Good or bad, I'll be back. ;)

I've kinda been seeing website upgrades from the other end of things recently. My husband currently has a contract job maintaining a website that was written in some bizarre computer language he has zero experience in by someone who (a) no longer works for the company and ( B) didn't put any comments into his code. The ironic thing is that in a couple of months all the maintenance work will be made redundant when the company puts up the *new* website. Oh, and the version of the language used *isn't* compatible with more recent versions of it (as in, coding conventions are completely backwards between versions...). And one of the bug fixes was supposed to have been loaded yesterday morning between 9 and 10 AM so the end users would not notice any issues (such as the site being temporarily down). But he broke something in the process and was a complete bear for a good chunk of the rest of the day as a result. And making MY day even more unpleasant than it already was.

ETA: I got my notification about the original shipment of the new Herbin 1670 ink without issues -- but that *was* with the old site. As for Black Friday sales, it sounded as if Brian and Rachel decided that the people who work for them needed to be with their families more -- and after having made the mistake last year of going into the Levi's store just off Herald Square in NYC last year on Black Friday, forgetting what day it was! What a nightmare! :yikes:

Hang in there, Rachel. If it's any comfort, this user has placed a couple of orders in the past few weeks, and had no issues with the website or the service.

Hey, it took me 2.5 days to post a friggin' YouTube video. And I design software for a living!

Heh. Say no more. I feel his pain.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
