Here is a picture of my first (and only till date) attempt at ink mixing. It's a bit reddish brown in colour and I think it shades nicely.

Looks interesting. One of those colors I'd have to try in person to see if I liked it. I think it'd look very nice on ivory paper.

I like it very much. First I'm a sucker for a good brown (#underratedcolor) and you have nailed a nice one here.

Very nice shading.

It reminds me of Waterman absolute brown (formerly 'havana') It's not at all the same but also a reddish, almost rusty brown.

 

Speaking of which. I think I'll give that another try soon....

Maybe with a new pen...

Oh the temptations.

Lucky there's a little something in the mail.

Thought I detected a hint of purple :) I wear purple Irlen lenses in my glasses so have a soft spot for purples. Love the shading!

Very nice.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Serious shading and a gorgeous colour to boot. Beautiful. Looks like Diamine Terracotta but with way more shading.

 

First attempt eh ? Bravo !

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
