Ooh this is very nice. I do like a nice red violet. I will think about a bottle. Thankfully, it's available under the Architekt brand so a tiny bit cheaper than normal De Atramentis.

OH! Good to know. It's not available at Isellpens so I bought other reds, but I really like this.

I REALLY love the color and performance. I also really liked the scented Rose. I look forward to reading and seeing your inky thoughts.

No, actually I am on an ink budget hold until I finish at least a quarter of my samples or sell a couple dozen bottles of ink. I was super tempted, though. (I also managed to hold off on the new Diamine inks, though I need to get samples at some point.)

 

I am starting a ink review project, using Tomoe River paper and every ink I could find samples of as of November (from the three big sample-sellers). Kermesin was not on my list because I couldn't find samples, and even limiting myself to samples, prep for the sampling was intense and expensive. (I think I'm currently in the realm of 647 inks.) I have plans to try to get the Sailor Kobe and other De Atramentis and Standardgraph inks via some sort of sample-share, but I decided I just needed to start and see what happened instead of just accumulating more and more ink.

 

But in the next month or so there will be other comparisons and brief reviews. I am sourcing a scanner, and doing a bunch of prep and labeling right now. And trying to figure out if I want to start with reds or grays.

Just start!

 

You can easily have 10 different sheets of paper for the colors. The papers are easier to move. Also, some inks will end up with multiple colors. (Like Yama Budo, does it go in purple or red or pink? - so do all three).

 

Once you start it will all improve.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
