If I were doing those, I wonder how many would go up in smoke from the happy heat gun. It brings to mind the sour face of Chuck Yeager on the Flight Simulator program, "You just dug a hole all the way to China."

Yikes! Christmas candy!

"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?" Patrick Henry

Everyone is snatching these up before they disappear on December 1 and the new ones are on the shelf.

San Francisco International Pen Show - The next “Funnest Pen Show” is on schedule for August 23-24-25, 2024.  Watch the show website for registration details.

Of course, they may just flood the market and prices will fall. (He said hopefully.............)

Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.

That's why it's called the present

I wouldn't hold your breath.

Sam and Frank have 2 email only deals a week, a Midnight Special on Sunday nights and Inky Thursdays. Both are by subscription only. I suspect they will have an Estie Orgy Week (Maybe the week the new Estie debuts...<knudging Sam...> ) and showcase these both days. I think they would sell at least 75% of them in 1 week. Pen peeps hit those two deal days HARD. The remainders they'd just put back into (everyday) sales stock.

OH my, these people are only a few hours drive away from me... though they might move if they knew I was this close. I will find out about stalking in Arizona (it may not have the same penalties).

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

You might be okay as they just moved...AZ is new for them. If you hit 'em on a good day, they might still have movers-lag and not run!

So, what's your point?

Ya'll are just cracking me up reading this!

Bruce - Thanks for sharing my very quick phone pic of the Esties. Love the idea of an Esterbrook Orgy Week! We'll see...... I don't think we'll have enough completely restored to time it with the New Esterbrook offerings.

Amberlea - Are there craft beers in Nevada? I must explore further. AZ & NM have great craft beers. PS: There is a group of pen people that gather in LV every now and then.

No, we're not hoarders, but we sort of let the Esterbrooks accumulate in a back cupboard, so it is now time to bring them back to life.

Frank worked on and did the basics on 4 boxes of Esties today. About 8 more boxes to go. Lots of checking, cleaning, polishing and all the other stuff that goes into a fully restored pen, far more than sticking a new sac in and calling it done. That doesn't work for us.

So my Ex-husband's girlfriend, Meg (who is awesome to me and my kids so I love her and drag her to Pen shows), is going to go see her parents tomorrow for Thanksgiving IN KINGMAN. I'm sure she won't notice me in the backseat of the car. What time should I come over? I'll bring beer. Oh wait...3 kids of my own that I must feed. So, tomorrow is out...

When are you coming to town?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
