Help! Dropped My Wives Cross Metropolis.

Hope someone can help with this. I trashed the nib on my wife's petite Cross Metropolis.

Does any kind soul happen to have a nib that would fit or a pen they would like to sell?

I messaged the Cross website but no answer and don't see a replacement nib or even mention of this model.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

May well be that the nib is repairable.

Call Cross.

 

Ask to be connected to the Tech in the repair department that handles the Metropolis. They may have some nib sections stuck away. Since you caused the damage, you'll probably need to pay the $10 fee. (Were it a new pen or

an obvious defect, you could maybe talk them into waiving the fee.)

If you haven't broken the tips of the tines off of the pen, it's likely it can be straightened. If you can't find the proper replacement, there are several here--myself included--than can help you.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
