Tombow Zoom 101 Carbon Fiber Fp Cheap At Amazon

I just bought one of these at Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006CDAI1U/ref=pe_385040_30332200_TE_item

For some reason, I was offered a 20% off coupon listed with the item - net price was $88.82.

I think this is the same pen at Jetpens for $275

I don't know if this offer is made to everyone, if its because I'm and Amazon prime customer, or because I'm in their database as a pen nut. I would be interested to hear if others get the same deal.

(No connection with any of the companies involved, except as satisfied customers of both.)

Thanks for the alert on this. I'm a Tombow fan, but I'd passed on this model because of the price.

I just ordered one via Amazon and I did, in fact, get the 20%-off discount coupon + free shipping (and I'm not Amazon prime).

Thanks again.

I'm a beginner and am interested in this pen. Could you tell me what kind of ink converter would fit this pen?

A standard international ink converter fits.

This place is terrible. I was minding my own business and saw this thread. I ended up ordering then cancelling when I realized other than material and design, it didn't have any of the qualities that I like in my pens. :P

It's too light and too thin for me. But I am still tempted. It's a clean modern design with modern material but I felt its MSRP was grossly overpriced and, even with the discount, it still feels overpriced. With the tax, it came to almost $95 for me. At that price, Tombow should at least throw in a converter.

Oh, woe is me. What to do, what to do? Try it and flip it? Resist the temptation? What would you guys do?

There you go. It won't get heavier and it won't get fatter. If you don't like thin and light pens, you likely won't use it.

I've been lured into the "That's such a great price" justification. I'm getting better at resisting it.

I think you hit it on the head. Compare to the MSRP, it's a great price but objectively it's not really: almost $100 and no converter with steel nib? (Yes, I am trying to un-justify the purchase. :)) But, I have to say, the carbon fiber is sure cool, though...

Yup - that's the listed price. When I ordered it, there was a "coupon" you could click on. When you checked out an additional 20% was taken off the final price.

The coupon is still there - at least when I look at it. Amazon may not give the same deal to everyone - their prices change depending on who you are.

Yes, the JetPens price is silly. But that Amazon deal is good value. This pen, as observed, is feather light--but it's the feather touch of nib on paper that really impresses--requires practically no pressure at all. Amazing, really.

You're really right about this pen. Mine arrived last week and it's been a total pleasure to use. As has been mentioned, it's lightweight but it's somehow not insubstantial, if that makes sense. I'm glad to have gotten it for the sale price.

Got A Tombow Havana FP which I like very much.

This price is OK but not great, especially as this is only for the F nib. Other nibs are premium....

For me Amazon.com is a nono anyway because of P&P and VAT and Customs...

Price on Amazom UK is now GBP80 on an M nib.

Cheaper from Cult Pens with their 10% discount, brings it to £72 .....

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
