Goulet Pens' Thanksgiveaway

Ghost Plane

I won! I won!

I placed an order under my super secret name I use away from this board and social media because, hey, moderators have lives, too, and wish to remain anonymous. The post came today & I whipped out the machete I use to open mega-wrapped parcels so I could see what flavor Tootsie-Pop I had. (Grape)

But there, underneath the bubble wrap...what's this? Gift wrap? Has the uber-phenomenol service failed at last and sent someone else's present to me? I reach for the packing slip. Another surprise. A really sweet personal letter addressed to the real me written in an ink color to match something I ordered. (They really DO know their customer's secret fantasies.)

Much shredding of gift wrap ensued. I shall draw a curtain across the scene of mayhem and greed and leave my exclamations of eager delight to the imagination of the gentle reader. In short, it wasn't pretty.

Behold the object of my secret longing. I won that day's Thanksgiveaway. Behold the coveted Herbin Stormy Gray. This is good stuff! The awesome Goulets have struck again with generosity and coveted items.

THANK YOU! I love it and you KNOW I'll use it. Just as soon as I stop jumping up and down emitting chortles of glee.

There really IS a Thanksgiveaway and they give great presents. Perhaps one of you will be a daily winner.

Having now revealed myself to those good folks by my effusive outpourings, I shall henceforth withdraw from future communications regarding swag, booty and loot on the board to avoid conflicts of interest. But this one time, I feel I can express my gratitude and pleasure.

Very nice indeed, GP, and well deserved too!

And a great gesture from Gouletpens!

Wonderful for you Ghost Plane! Now that is a gift that many will envy as it sold out so quickly, and a beautiful ink too.

I got a Goulet Pen Co. order 2 days ago and there was a gift wrapped ribbon tied small box in with the items. The invoice note said I had won a ThanksGiveaway prize. I was shocked, I never win anything. As I opened it (much like the scene you described) I saw the box was a Noodler's ink box. Wow, it was a bottle of General of the Armies! It has been out of stock for quite a while and on my wish list and I was looking for it to come back in stock. I was stunned! When they select the day's winner, do they look at the customer's wish list? Goulet has been out of this ink for a while, even out of the small samples. I mailed my ThanksGiveaway entry yesterday, maybe I'll be the one to win an Omas Ogiva Alba pen! If you haven't seen it yet, Goulet Pen's video introduction on the ThanksGiveaway event was wonderfully, masterfully done. Dancing pops and pens, a treat to watch and rewatch.

Congratulations! The wrapping was a nice touch for an early Christmas surprise. I wonder how many people are on the e-mail notification list for that ink lusting after it. :D

That's cool! It does appear that the Goulets are having difficulty getting their new web site off the ground. I haven't been able to access it all day.

Congratulations! :) Yes, Thanksgiveaway is a real thing! We had been planning it out and saved some hot things like Stormy Grey and Generals of the Armies just because we knew they would be that much more special when out of stock. Thank you for such a glowing post, GP, I personally appreciate all of your contributions on FPN over the years.

Looks that way, but I think they're doing it right by delaying and taking their time to iron out all of the kinks. I've seen too many websites do a re-design that is terrible. Hopefully it's down for longer than a day (kidding) so I don't feel tempted to make another order to try to get something for free.

Congrats! I'll admit to a rather childish glee when I receive a "Goulet" package in the post.

Today's was merely a bottle of DA Graf Zeppelin and a Pilot Metro for my son but that didn't stop me from enjoying the tootsie pop and the airship doodle I'd requested.

It really is no wonder their company has grown so rapidly. Goulet is an example of how to do it right.

The servers are probably having trouble with the increase traffic is all; a few days and it should be fine. It's quite a change from what it was previously!

That's a superb and really lucky prize.... Wow Stormy Grey, that's a little extreme given how in demand it is. Congratulations on the prize!

I had a dream I won last night, but the receipt had a note saying to mail the ribbon & wrapping paper back to them, since they only had enough to wrap one giveaway at a time. :lticaptd:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
