Iroshizuku From Japan $20.59 Shipped Worldwide

While searching for other things, I found a seller on 'that' site selling many Iroshizuku inks at US $20.59 a bottle including worldwide shipping.

These inks sell here in Australia for about A$50 and this represents a very substantial saving. I have just bought my first two: Yama Guri and Shin Kai. I had almost given up the dream of ever being able to buy this ink at a reasonable price.

I believe Engeika has these inks for even cheaper at about $13.50 per bottle.

But that doesn't include shipping does it? He usually charges quite a bit for shipping.

Yeah, you're right- I just checked. If you buy more than $200 worth, he gives you free shipping though, so I suppose it's an option for those who are buying something else from him at the same time.

Hi All,

$ 13,50 per bottle is correct.

Ordered 15 bottles and some pen pouches from Engeika last week Sunday.

Delivery is Monday, tomorrow. That is within a week to Amsterdam from Japan. That's good.

Let's see when the package arrives what is in it.

I just ordered 2 bottles from lovely-love-chan0509. Delivery expected between 12/2 & 12/17. Not bad for free, and from Japan, if it happens. If it does, I'll look into buying more from the site, and you'll see my thumbs-up here.

Meantime, I'll check out Engeika, also.

  • 1 month later...

Had forgot to follow up on this. I don't recall exactly what date/how long it took to receive my order of two (2) bottles, but it was satisfactory for the price. I'll probably be order ordering more ink from this source.

Maybe some tariff on JP goods?

I wonder can you order from Rakuten?

this or that I can't say about Japanese hate on Koreans... which I feel is too... Ironic considering the similarities in their pop culture... <_<

My Mom hated the Japanese to a point she banned me from watching anime for some time.

The hate is a 3 way of those 3 countries in that tiny area. The hate isn't "I hate you" but "I'm better than you" and "I came first so my history is more important and you all are posers."

Current hate JP and KR hate is from those two islands.

But I think it's some sort of Tariff on out of country goods. I remember going into SKR a while back and..... because we brought a tiny bit too much of a certain product. Said product was confiscated unless we pay a fine that is like 100x the product's cost. I can't find any hate on the USA. On the streets they were playing Justin Beiber's songs. It must be some really odd tariff that tries to promote internal growth.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
