Hello Everyone,

 

DATELINE: Friday, November 07, 2014; International Fountain Pen Day. Mass hysteria hits the streets as crowds swarm pen and ink shops throughout the world! Servers crash as billions log online to patronize online pen and ink sellers. The fountain pen is new again and everyone wants one......

 

(Back to grim reality). At any rate, I digress.

 

I hadn't gotten back into fountain pens before they instituted International Fountain Pen Day, so this year will be my first one. Does anyone here recall how the previous years' events went - any good sales or offerings?

Hi, there were a few place with discounts, including Cult Pens, who had 10% off, but I haven't seen anything advertised this year. Still hoping ....!

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
