I would love Bungbox Ruby or Sweet Potato Purple, or P&M Burgundy

If magic is involved then I'd like to be gifted a bottle that will fill with whatever ink I ask from it! Yes, I'm one of those kinds of people :P

If the bottle HAS to be ink, right now Bay State Blue (but I'd rather it be Jim Beam Brown)

I heard you asked Santa for Levenger Pinkly.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Parker Penman Sapphire.

But given its lack of availability and "off the charts" price....

Well, I have an entire spreadsheet of inks to order (including backup bottles of inks I have that I like).... Hmm. I would say maybe a bottle of De Atramentis Albrecht Dürer. Yeah, I know, it's the same as Silver Grey -- and the same as Tchaikowsky (which I already have a bottle of). But I just like the idea of an ink that looks just like a silverpoint drawing only out of a pen nib being named for one of my favorite artists.

Oh and for pie-in-the-sky fantasy wish list, an unscented version of D A Patchouli -- loved the cover, but it's stinky (and doesn't even have the grace to *smell* like patchouli).

Hi,

Sailor Jentle rikyu-cha.

When Sailor re-released some of the seasonal inks I was soooo disappointed that rikyu-cha wasn't amongst them. [pout]

An odd thing is that being an 'on purpose' colour I don't use it so often, but the letters are often in the range of 10+ A4s.

Bye,

Any Iroshizuku would be nice, but especially Yama Budo.

I'm almost certainly never going to buy any of them myself, because I personally think water-resistance is very important, and the line has none. Also, they're expensive! But the colors and the shading can be tempting—so I certainly wouldn't object if I got some as a gift!

The old and discontinued Montblanc Blueblack (not Midnight Blue - older than that). The rest I can buy myself.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm printing this message and putting it inside my empty stocking which will be hung on the mantle with care...

I'd really like the De Atramentis Document Yellow and White. I see a lot of mixing in my future. I'm really enamored with the Cyan and Magenta.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
