Sheaffer New Old Stock Quasi-Imperials

We're pleased to announce a new batch of "quasi-Imperials" has arrived!

http://www.peytonstreet.com/pens/sheaffer/quasi_imperials_final_1.jpg

We've had most of these before, but the smooth chrome 506XG is a new model for us. Most of the nibs are fine, but we have some extra fines in the 506XG. Since those are the same nibs that are on the 550 and 444XG, that means we can put one of the XF nibs on the 550 or 444XG, I may be able to find a medium or two, but you'll need to contact me prior to ordering because these are in short supply and won't be in the pull-down menus.

These are in gorgeous new old stock condition with stickers. We have replaced the original squeeze converters with modern Sheaffer piston converters. The pens will be shipped in a Peyton Street Pens gift box. As usual, shipping the US via first class is free, and international shipping is around $12.

550 -- $97 -- see the listing here

506XG -- $97 -- see the listing here

444XG -- $97 -- see the listing here

444 -- $58 -- see the listing here

Also arrived via time machine from the 1980s ..... Sheaffer slim Cartridge II cartridges, and new old stock slim Targa nibs.

Thanks!

TERI

All in F or EF nibs?

Pity, as it is a nice offer.

Any experience with these pens? I love the look of those nibs and hunger for a Scheaffer pen.

Tons of experience! We've sold probably 1,000 of the steel nib 444s over the past three years. They have been very reliable and we've probably only had 10 come back with problems. The gold nib models are similarly dependable, and very smooth.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
