Pens That Have Matching Top Jewel Recommendations

There are a few pens out there, that I know and love, that have matching top jewels. The Bexley Jitterbug and the older Parker Vacumatics. For some reason I really love that look - of the matching celluloid with a clip framing it. I'm not sure if any Esterbrooks have matching jewels; usually just black I think.

Any suggestions on other pens that have this feature? Most appreciated!

Parker 51's have jewels on the caps that match the color of the barrel on the cap, and there are double-jeweled models that have one on both ends (although these are rare and cost 3x as much as a standard "51").

Parker 51 Aerometric (F), Sheaffer Snorkel Clipper (PdAg F), Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman (M), red striated Sheaffer Balance Jr. (XF), Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman desk set (M), Reform 1745 (F), Jinhao x450 (M), Parker Vector (F), Pilot 78g (F), Pilot Metropolitan (M), Esterbrook LJ (9555 F), Sheaffer No-Nonsense calligraphy set (F, M, B Italic), Sheaffer School Pen (M), Sheaffer Touchdown Cadet (M), Sheaffer Fineline (341 F), Baoer 388 (F), Wearever lever-filler (M).

This is actually only partially correct; the "51" jewels came in just 3 colors: silver (1st year, the jewel was metal), grey (the most common) and amber (least common, and doesn't match any barrel color, except maybe Mustard Yellow, which is rare as well). So you may say that only a "51" Vac in Dove Grey or "51" Aero in Navy Gray has a matching cap jewel.

Yeah, 51's. Those pens kind of bore me a bit. I like the earlier Vacumatics with the striated jewel to match the body of the pen. Those are quite possibly the sexiest pen ever.

This pen interests me: il_570xN.607719752_7hj8.jpg

Bump for this thread. Don't mean to be a nudge.

Found one that I really like - Levenger True Writer and True Writer Select. Those seem nice with matching jewel ends (and also matching the pen's barrel material).

Any others people can think of?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
