Nib Repair Tools Inquiry

I have read all the nib tuning articles written by nibmeisters such as Richard Binder and John Mottishaw and so far I have relied only on my fingernails and patients. However I have noticed that fingernails can only go so far before you need tools to really be precise. So for general nib tuning what sort of pliers would you recommend, round nose pliers or flat nose pliers? I'm a bit reluctant to get the metal pliers as it seems like they can easily dent gold nibs as opposed to nylon pliers. I know Richard Binder use to sell pliers on his website but he is no longer selling them on his website.

 

Another problem I find myself is that when I adjust the nib tines and ink flow it may sometimes mess up the overall shape of the nib so even though the tines are perfectly aligned, once you place the nib onto the feed and section the tines are misaligned. I would really like a Steytler nib block but they are unfortunately out of production and expensive. What's the next best tool for burnishing and straightening a nib?

So what type of pliers should I purchase, and should I just get the nylon ones or are metal ones fine?
