Phidon will be bringing some Franklin Christoph pens in the coveted Ice finish - first time this finish is available at retail in Canada I believe. Get to their table early to grab a Model 40 pocket in Ice!

So, for ppl going ... What is on your hitlist? Anything you're bringing to sell or trade?

Me, I'm looking to pick up some ink (Akkerman if anyone has, rare Sailor if anyone has, Herbin 1670 [maybe]), some paper, and see what pens sing to me. Also bringing a factory Pelikan Italic nib to be ground down to something closer to a CI (it's very stubby now).

Also, may bring some to trade or unload: couple of Jinhaos, Pilot Metro, Noodlers Konrad blue demonstrator, unopped bottle of the discontinued ink Sailor Jentle Sky High - not sure if this is something that is "done" for people who aren't exhibiting at a table !

Not sure if there will be label tags available for you to print your FPN name...

Drop by the ink table, I will bring some blank labels just in case... (I need to remember to bring a black marker... )

I am looking forward to seeing those FC pens. as for trading or selling I have about 20 MBs that I am willing to part with (most of them are vintage models).

I alrady stopped by the Bloor st boutique for some ink today. They had the Lavender purple so I grabbed a bottle.

Just browsing your sig.... Will you have your Pelikan M205 with a .4mm stub or the VP in a EF nib with you at the show ? I've been curious about how both those nibs write (I have a few Pelikans including .6mm CI, and a VP fine)

It's finally here!

I'll be the one looking very overwhelmed by everything and trying to find the faces to match FPN profiles.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
