Mk30 Is Writing Way Too Wet

Just got a MK30 from Bulgaria, but it writes way too wet almost leaving a small drop on the paper as it goes. How do I adjust it? See attached pics in case that helps.

What ink are you using.

Try Pelikan 4001.

 

Could be a crack somewhere too.

Also, with that model, flooding the feed is easy. If you haven't already, turn out two or three drops, blot the point, then retract the piston to take on some air.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning.
