Fantastic collection, and tryphon's photos of the LEs reveal the beauty of these pens. I have a couple regular production Optimas and Talentums, no LEs, but I think Aurora produces very desiable LEs. They are not simple variations on regular production pens but masterpieces, blending design and materials.

Francisco,

I have been pleasantly surprised in the past by the customer support received from Aurora in Turin.

I had a vintage pen needing a new cap and they supplied it to me free of charge, even though the pen was twenty years old!

Send them a message describing the damage and see what they say. I would deal with them directly, not through a local distributor.

Hope this works out well for you and your beautiful pen!

Hello Thyfhon (Giovanni), I followed your advice and sent an email on Oct. 14 to aurora@aurorapen.it
So far no answer. In your case, they responded quickly? How was the process?

Give them a couple of days, then send a reminder.

I am sure they will get back to you soon.

Giovanni

Here in Portugal since 2013 there is a new importer of Aurora pens "Altoinfor". Unlike the previous importer, this seems to make no repairs, send the pens directly to Italy.
In early October had already come into contact with them, but no response.

Mare and Primavera are quite possibly my two favorite colors on any modern fountain pens, ever

I have a Mare that'd I'd like to ink up, but god is it pretty

Very nice Aurora collections! I don't own any so I wonder what's so special about them...

I will let you know! I fell in love with the Blue Auroloide, enough to cancel a third Nakaya and swap for an Optima. For me it's the beauty of the celluloid and the great things I've heard about the nib. This is the last pen purchase for the rest of my life!

One of my favorites! Just to be precise: the material is not celluloid, but a proprietary acrylic resin.

I got my Optima (blue auroloide) Thursday--I am in love with it, the beauty of the blue material, the gorgeous nib, the incredible comfort of the long section and the balance, the piston filler. I even like the magic reservoir! I just love it (if that isn't obvious)

@tryphon--your photo of your dog is awesome!

Hi guys. For those of you fortunate enough to own silver Aurora pens, how do they compare with the resin or Auroloide Optimas for weight and balance? Are they solid, or overlay on resin? Thanks in advance.

  • 3 weeks later...

I sent my Aurora 80th for repair directly to Italy.

The process was conducted by Mrs. Andreea Tamas, Export Department.

The pen took some time to get to Aurora, close to 15 days, but this was due to problems that the Aurora is not to blame.

On November 14 arived to Aurora and today i received it.

I was really surprised with the email sent to me by Mr. Cesare Verona, which is nothing more than the President and CEO of Aurora, he answer why the seller in Portugal no longer accepted pens for repair, due the breaking of the agreement with Aurora. There is negotiations with another company in order to have representation in Portugal.

I was even more surprised when he told me that the repair would be in charge of Aurora and that he would offer me a wooden box so I could keep these writing instruments.

I never had this treatment offered by the Montblanc, Parker or Pelikan.

Bravo Aurora!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
