Info On A Vintage Cross Pen Set

Can anyone please help me identify the model, and also the value?

They still have the garantee paper, the pens are used but in a good condition.

Cross Century Ballpoint and pencil set. Probably the original version. Nice box...

One of the gold versions, should read somewhere on the pen what the gold content is.

 

 

I'm not much into ballpoints, but I think I remember refills are hard to find as they changed a bit over the years.

 

There have been some topics here on the Cross forum in the recent months, so you'll have to look for that.

The "original" Centruy from about the mid 1970s.

Looks like 10k or 12k gold filled (from the yellow color). But the pix looks like I can see base metal under the gold in several places, or that is a reflection. The photo quality is REALLY BAD. And that hides problems.

Check eBay completed sales for what they are going for. I'm going to guess, that set would be less than $50, especially as it looks worn.

Yep - they'll be gold filled - another pointer is how long the black end is on the cap. I think it goes something like:

 

Long and at the end (gold-looking pen): 10K gold filled

Long and at the end (silver-looking pen): chrome plated

Short and at the end (silver-looking pen): sterling silver

Short and at the end (gold-looking pen): 14K gold filled

Short black with gold tip: 14K gold
