Are There Users From The Us That Have Used The Vendor "pen Gallery" (Dot) Com?

Greetings,

Not only did I find a Lamy 2000 for cheap, but since they are outside the US, they stock all of what Lamy has to offer as far as nibs. EF, F, M, B, BB, OB, OBB, OM.

I have only ever found LAMY 2Ks with EF, F, M, B.

Any feedback on this vendor and suggestions about the ideal nib not normally available?

Thanks for your time and attention.

When you use this non-US retailer, have you thought about what you would do if you received a pen that was a hard starter, or skipped, or leaked?

Will they take an exchange after the box is opened, or the pen has been used (i.e. cartridge/converter installed)?

I have, which is part of the reason I am writing. What a company claims and what one does, are not always congruous. The fact remains there are plenty of good vendors outside of the states that enjoy doing business US costumers. As a matter of fact, one of my other avocations relegates me to ONLY using foreign vendors. But in the end, intel given the experience of others, is key.

Btw, I assume the answer to my original question is NO, correct?

You know the Lamy 2000 is a piston-filler, right?

Although I'm not in the US, I have bought a bit of stuff from them. Sometimes they display stuff on their web site when they don't have any stock, in my experience. They're pretty good about getting in contact and letting you know when that's the case, and will try and get it in. But it's annoying when it happens.

This has happened twice with me, I think, but it's not a big enough problem (to me) to stop buying from them (so far). Otherwise they have a good range, decent prices, and not ridiculous delivery charges. Maybe worth contacting them and seeing if it's in stock before you purchase though if you want anything a bit unusual.

I've bought from them a few times and have never had any problems. Shipping has been fast, and goods received in order.

IIRC they have a B&M store in Malaysia in addition to their online store.

Same here--two orders, five pens, no problems.

Highly recommended. I bought a Pelikan M1000 and later, a Pelkan M800. In both instances I was surprised how fast the pens arrived (from Malaysia to Wisconsin, USA) and I got great prices on both.

Yes & had the pens within 3 days. A 149, Marlen Aderl and a Churchill with an IB nib. Excellent service be sure to ask if you don't see the nib you want. Sometimes they have it or can get it.

I have yet to buy from them but they have a brick and mortar store in Malaysia, which my dad has been to and has told me, looked quite nice with a knowledgable owner. I will pop by sometime when I head home next month. If I manage to, I shall take a few pics :)

Fountain pens are like weapons. They just make your pocket bleed so much.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
