OK, bets on how much it'll hammer for, aside from shipping. I say 162 GBP, even with the non-standard but very rare point.

This is a relisting from last week. Last week, it had an opening bid of 149 GBP, and no takers. Knowing eBay and bidders, they'll probably top that this time around.

For some reason, the market on Visuthingies seems to have softened recently.

The last 2 did not even clear $200 when they are usually $250 pens.

That's a beautiful gray pen. About five days to go and at seventy-three dollars and change.

I find it curious no one commented on the true rarity of this one: sure, Esterbrook, like other manufacturers, had pens for doctors and nurses; this is the first I've seen for prostitutes.

Nuh Uh (negative) - it did not say for defense attorneys.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That nib is... WOW! It just looks amazing.

Only the second one of those I've ever seen. USA-made, early flat feed and green collar. Probably done before the x314s. One wonders if they made them in Fine and Broad ...

I'm surprised it took you lot so long to notice it.

Of course I didn't raise the issue because I am far too polite...

HO HO HO! What are they talking about? I've heard of HO scale model train sets. But pen . . . fountain pens . . . Esterbrook fountain pens? Well I guess they needed something to keep records with in the red light district. And, while I don't know from my own experience, of course, I have heard that Visu . . . al things are very important in that district. So a Visu . . . thingy Esterbrook might be exactly what they would have needed . . . oh my! A HO pen made by Esterbrook!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
