I had a bit of a weird eBay transaction. I ordered a Graf Von Faber Castell Guilloche in Cognac for what I think was a really good price on eBay. What I received, I think, was either the classic in platinum or silver. I can't say I'm disappointed, I really think this one is beautiful. But could someone confirm this is what is received as the item on the box doesn't match. Also, the black nib unit does not appear consistent with what the classic comes with. Is this likely a stock replacement unit or did an older model come with the black.

It's a Platinum; the Silver has a double cap rim. The GvFCs can be ordered with plastic, plated or silver sections.

Great - Thank you (I also noted that it didn't have a "925" marking on the cap, which I think the silver does).

The silver is proof marked on both cap and body.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
