Very nice pen, Czech!

You may need to wait till you receive it to order the pressure bar (I always think it's better to measure and be sure). It appears to be a Duo Jr. The sac size is 21-2 necked or straight 20 IIRC, for Jr.(Sr. takes about a 22)

Thanks for the info! I was thinking that as well, so patience, it'll be here in a day or two. I'm hoping its intact, but other pics show the button mashed in so I have little hope that it's working right.

A Jr takes closer to an 18. The Sr uses a 22 NECKED sac, which takes it down to about a 20 at the neck. You can use a straight sac if you use a 20. In 20+ years of repairs I've rarely found at necked sac in a Duofold which tells me that most repair shops went with the straight sacs that they kept in the shop. A little less ink, but I doubt that anyone notices.

Well, I got the pen in hand and it is the junior length. I've ordered the 66mm pressure bar from Anderson pens and I had a size 18 sac. I found out the pressure bar wasn't broken, just gone and the nib was a replacement non Parker with no iridium. No worries there! I have a spare Dunn in perfect condition that fits just fine. Five star has a nib to match, but it costs more than what I paid for the pen 😢 Anybody have any advice for popping out the button?

Just Pull (with fingers or pliers. It's designed to pull out.

Be pretty gentle when cleaning the body and cap. I recently had a cap lip crack (it may have been cracked and I didn't see it). I was twizzling it dry with a twisted paper towel. I should have checked it better.

Thanks! It popped right out with a little persuasion. The biggest risk was me shooting it across my workspace with the wire brush on the Dremel polishing off the verdigris... . No worries, I found it. (Whew)

I am happy to report that the feed is a true blue Lucky Curve. No cutting hacking or mischief. Now to wait for the bits. . Anticipation!

I had to use a 18 sac as the 21-1/2 was too broad for the spring bar.

Thanks! Yessir. Dunn nibs are da bomb! 😆

I still wish I had an intact Parker nib to bring her back to full parkery glory, but this will do for now. It was better than what she came with.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
