Hey Everybody.

Im so excited and no one shares my happiness so i though i would post up my latest purchase that i should be getting today.

TWSBI diamond 580 with an F nib

Bulletproof eel noodlers ink

Mont Blanc mystery black cartridges

Iroshizuku Asa-Gao ink

Rohida classic orange 8.5x11.75 notepad

Noodlers polar bear brown

Now im really deciding what to do with each of my pens.

Im thinking

Old Parker sonnet with m nib polar bear brown for home use

Twsbi noodlers black for meetings, notes and letting others use at work.

Mont Blanc traveler 147 with Aso-Gao re-filled cartridges for my private writing at work.

I really cant wait to see how the inks look, i am still deciding if i should give each ink a try in each pen just to see how they write.

Hahahaha congratulations.

I love the feeling when a horde of pen-stuffs comes in. Best. Feeling. Ever.

I used to try a new ink in all my pens too. It got a bit annoying when I got more pens though.

Not a bad idea-- some pens and inks don't agree with each other, but do splendidly with other partners.

So I inked up, results so far on Mead and Rhodia paper.

The Parker Sonnet with a medium nib is best on cheap Mead paper with Polar bear brown no bleeding and nice shading

On Rhodia i get a nicer shading and wetter look when dry with the quickest dry time.

The Mont Blanc, with a medium nib is worst on cheap Mead paper with Mont Blanc Mystery black lots of bleeding and very slight shading

On Rhodia no bleeding but a long dry time.

TWSBI with fine nib is passable on cheap Mead paper with Aso-Gao blue some bleeding and no shading visible

On Rhodia No bleeding, medium dry time, subtle shading

I have still yet to try the noodlers black, i will refill my Mont Blanc cartridgres with it once i am convinced it wont clog up the pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
