Say it loud! I am (Kaweco) Black and I am Proud :excl:

 

Having a Black Soul usually has a negative connotation...

But Black Soul can be awesome :)

Funnily the man who sung this song is not black.... He is brown..... James Brown!!!!.

 

And then there is Jack Black.... who is white.... Confusing or what :D

 

Let me clear you up

 

Sometimes...

I see a sheet and I want to Paint it Black....

No colours anymore I want them to turn black...

 

(Little hint here Mick mix them all and you get black)

 

Finding a truly black is is not easy today... There is IG but that's not always... "igeal"

 

I found a true black ink

... since the Fountain Pens's golden days....

This Ink behaves very well. It is medium dry.... It took a bit of drying time though.... But that can be due to the BB nib

Funnily it is just a tiny bit less black in the Italic 2,3 nib

 

It is as black as money on a Swiss bank account with the BB nib...

 

BB how could I forget the great BB King.... Sorry too many great Blacks (sorry not meant prejorative here) to mention here :notworthy1:

I don't see no feathering here.... Not even the fat 2,3 nib feathers :thumbup:

I don't see shading either.... But hey.... it's black

Showthrough = NOTHROUGH!!!

Forget that tiny black spot... I ran over the paper 4 times wiht the 2,3 nib... even plastic bleeds than.

Fountain Pens Kaweco Classic Sport BB and Classic sport 2.3 italic

Paper cheap school paper

Drying Time medium points 3

Flow in BB nib excellent :) in 2,3 nib medium..... points 5/3

Lubrication good... points 4

Bleeding ABSENT even in 2,3 nib.... points 5

Feathering NONE points 5 :)

Waterproof survives a drop but not a diving experience wiht Jacques Coustea.... He is dead anyway so points 3

Packaging cartridges only points 1 :unsure:

To conclude

 

I was not a fan of black inks... But this Kaweco ink behaves so well..... I am a fan :) now....

 

Well they say.... Once you go black, you never go back...

 

Can't underwrite that. I am an Ink-polygamist (and an Inkoholic)...

 

I love the browns the greens and the blues too :wub:

What I can say....

 

I will never turn my back on Kaweco Black

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I have just seen your gracious offer.

I am not sure that I'm ready for black just yet as I'm trying to sift through some blues.

However, I shall bear your offer in mind.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
