First Came Khione And Now It's Time For ...........

Nordic Pen Imports

Recommended Posts

Hi all

A couple of years ago I introduced you all to the Khione, a pen developed together with Conway Stewart and now it's time for the next pen in this serie of fine writing instruments.

The new pen will be made in black resin with a beautiful gold coloured nib.

As last time I need help with the name for the pen.

Do you have a suggestion?

As before, the winning suggestion will get a free pen.

Right now everything is in planning but as soon as pictures are ready I will post them here.

Kind regards

Niklas

Here is a picture of the Khione so you will get an idea of what I'm talking about:

Is there more information on the pen ,ie which company is making it and what theme etc? Would help in naming!

But based on the info given, I would go with Elegante, a Danish adjective meaning 'the plural of elegant', or El Clásico, of Spanish football, because a black pen with gold nib conjures an image of elegance and classiness, the pen which would be a timeless classic.

Conway Stewart will help me this time too. Not sure on the model yet but it will be an awsome pen.

I like the suggestions so far but keep them coming and once we are getting closer to release I will post a poll and the winner will be decided.

Then I would say the "Centennial Elegante", since Conway Stewart has passed the 100 year mark! ^^

Or Nyx, goddess of the darkness, in line with the mystical theme.

Yes I'm aware of that, I might have some magic up my sleave!

How about "Surtr"... The Old Norse "black" God of Volcanoes who did battle with a beautiful flaming sword.

Conway Stewart is out of the picture. I did all I could but no luck.

So now the first question should be, what company do you think shall produce the black pen?

Well, I'm hoping Pelikan, since I'm a fan! :P

But on the more practical end, perhaps consider Edison?

As a company, you could of course try Onoto, sort of sister to CS.

This to keep it in Europe which would be easier with customs and the like.

Another company that comes to mind is the small Cleo Skribens in Germany.

Two suggestions. Given the history - Resurgens (rising again). Or Merle (blackbird, in French) - black plumage and yellow beak; and of course bird-named pens have a long history, including Blackbird of course, but also those strange ones with big beaks that eat fish, the name will come to me some time.... :)

Too many pens, too little time!

Marlen seem to have done a good job with the Aleph by most reports (I've not tried one myself), a pen that was developed for the Italian online pen community... worth looking into.

ooh! I second Marlen. They seem very responsive to customer requests.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
