Jfk Great Characters Edition Pen

Lamb South

Recommended Posts

I have seen a pic of the 83 edition but the quality was so poor I did not think it was worth posting. I have not seen any pics of the limited 3 editions.

I just got a call from the Atlanta MB Boutique letting me know that my JFK ballpoint pen had arrived at the store. They said my JFK fountain pen would arrive probably early next week. I am looking forward to picking them both up in about a week.

I've just reserved number 1900 out of the 1917 series. Unfortunately, it looks like the pen will need to arrive in Australia then get sent back for its "B" nib. Maybe this time next year.........

My special edition JFK was delivered today. Stuck with the standard M nib although my preference would be a B. Was surprised when I got the call from the boutique as I was expecting the "unlimited" version to be delivered in December/January timeframe. Have not had the time to take a closer look.

Came with a nice bound booklet about JFK and in unassuming (149 size) box with the initials "JFK" on the top. No ink or cuff links yet. Will try to take some pics but was waiting for the rest of my Extreme items to come in first.

The 1917 edition is a great looking pen and I wished I had the budget to have ordered it. I ordered the special edition instead. Hopefully the nib exchange won't take that long.

I am happy that you received the pen earlier than expected. How do you like the pen?

Wow! Simply Wow! Is the barrel smooth or textured?

The barrel and cap are smooth, the texture is luckily beneath but very nicely done. The ballpoint is in terms of weight and balance to me the best of the three - I ordered one. The fountain pen is rather light but with a very nice two-color nib - I will probably take it. The roller ball is not for me...

It is a very colorful, shiny edition - much different to the recent rather single-colored pens Montblanc did over the years. Reminds me a lot of my 4th of July skeleton pen.

OMG...those step-downs on their way to the section.

In order to appreciate the sweet, you must truly taste the bitter....

Dear Friends, just picked up my JFK Special Edition. It is a F nib. The pen is in a very dark blue colour (almost black) and I hope the photos below can change the impression of some of our friend here who had viewed the one I took during a Montblanc event in April.

Sampanel, as ever excellent photos thank you

I like the look of everything aside from the section. I need to see the pen in person to form a view on the step down.

I hadn't seen pictures of this version yet, it's a very nice design. Congrats on your purchase and thanks for the wonderful pics as usual :)

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Thank you ALL !! I've inked it with permanent blue. I am a EF nib user but this F nib wrote not much different and I will keep it as it is. This would definitely be my another rotation pen !!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
