Where Can I Buy A Lamy 14K Nib?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I was thinking of picking up a Lamy 14k nib in either M or OM, to use on my CP1. I haven't been able to find any sources at a reasonable price, though. I'd greatly appreciate if you guys could throw out any sources you know of, that will also ship internationally.

Thanks in advance! :)

There's some on ebay from various HK and German sellers if that's any help. They all fit the CP1

Plus I think purepens(?) is selling them from the UK. There was a thread about it a few weeks ago

Ah, I saw that HK seller, but I'm not sure if they are reputable as they sell many things other than pens. As for the german seller, I know he's reputable but I'm waiting for the price to go down a bit... $100+ on a nib is a little extreme! Checked out purepens, they seem to only have the steel nibs under Lamy nib replacements.

I got mine from LarryPost, but there may be cheaper sources internationally.

I checked out the website, and they only ship to Aus and Nz!

Ah it's not purepens. My mistake. This was the thread

Still rather pricey though I'm afraid.

I thought these nibs used to be $50-$60 from Lamy USA :( Oh well. I've contacted the local Lamy distributor to see what they say about nibs. Thank you for the help guys. If anyone still has any info, feel free to update :)

LarryPost does ship international. I just received a Lamy 2000 feed from them today.

I'm in the market for one of these, myself. Did the local Lamy distributor have anything useful to say?

Got it from fontoplumo.nl for about 55 euros

Ah, excellent! I've had a couple great transactions with them, and would rather buy from them than some eBay seller I know nothing about. :)

I'm the guilty party that convinced Fontoplumo and Frank to start carrying 'em and am currently working with Frank to try and arrange stubbing services for 'em via a third party.

At 55 euros + shipping, with the usual great service that Frank provides, you can't beat that price.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
