I second the Meisterstück and I particularly chose the classic black resin for its iconic look.

The Hemingway is the only one that I drool over. Take out the modern stiff nib and put in a vintage softy. That's a dream pen right there. :)

Love the prototype Jar. Beautiful. I have one but I think it's a fake. It only cost a couple bucks. :P

He asked which MB was most stylish. Perhaps the Starwalker?

Meisterstucks are great pens but stylish? I don't think so.

Might as well ask which one is "bestest." :D

Vintage - I like to coral red Danish pens and of course the 139 is amazing

Modern - Dumas, Julius 4810, 75th limited 149 (the 1924 version), L'Aubrac

OK - 1 pen only - Hitchcock which I find so charming in my hands

To each his own but I personally do not find the Starwalkers stylish.

"stylish" as in "hideous"?

Would be one of the skeletons, depending on where you live, maybe the flag edition with your country's flag on it.

"stylish" as in "elegant"?

Meisterstück

"stylish" as in "sophisticated"?

Heritage 1912

Greetings,

Michael

My personal favorites, in order are:

#4 Rouge et Noir (particularly this one: http://www.maxpens.de/bilder/rougefertig.htm);

#139 followed by its modern iteration, the Hemingway;

#149 vintage or modern (by style; not performance).

There are others, of course, but these are classics, in that they have no superfluous adornments, form follows function and they continue to be admired and cloned to the present day.

The Meisterstuck line has such classic styling that it hasn't needed a change in a very long time and still looks totally modern, so I think it's tough to unseat as the winner in any fountain pen showdown as the most stylish pen of all time.

Ah style eh. Now where do we begin, or light the touch paper, on this, Just as an aside how do you actually change the style of a functonal instrument as a pen ? Pointed end shoots ink, cap covers pointed end, pocket clip secures capped pointed ink shooter in pocket. Re inventing the wheel not required.

The prototype Mark Twain. Never understood why it did not go into production.

they're reserving that model for there Tom Sawyer edition, the inaugural instrument for their literary character series of pens:)

"No one needs to rotate a pen while using an oblique, in fact, that's against the whole concept of an oblique, which is to give you shading without any special effort."Professor Propas, 24 December 2010

"IMHO, the only advantage of the 149 is increased girth if needed, increased gold if wanted and increased prestige if perceived. I have three, but hardly ever use them. After all, they hold the same amount of ink as a 146."FredRydr, 12 March 2015

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
