I believe Andy's Pens still have some in stock.

What, CS is gone? Again?! Mi madre, that's depressing news. I've been considering one as a Grail pen for a long time now. Looks like getting one new isn't gonna happen :(

As I posted on the thread about CS going into administration, now is exactly the right time to support the pen retailers by buying the pens that they have in stock. The retailers have paid for these pens, and in some cases paid for pens that were never delivered to them. I've always had excellent service from dealers in terms of sorting out any glitches with pens, so the lack of manufacturer warranty is not an issue.

These people work hard and serve us well, so if you can afford to, go on - go and buy that CS now while there are still some available brand new.

As the saying goes: "I would if I could, but I can't so I shan't". Haha, I've got some other expenditures to deal with before I can indulge in buying new pens (daily necessities and repairs, etc.), so it's more or less a foregone conclusion that I'll end up on the Used Market if I push through with getting a Conway Stewart. Still, maybe that'll bode well for my wallet, considering how used prices are fairly good locally :P

Cheers!

Oh I understand, as I said, IF you can afford to. I'd be buying another now if I could, but as I splurged and bought one just before they went into administration, I can't ...

I'm just thankful that I managed to acquire mine when I did (courtesy of an unexpected additional payment from an employer) - because I would not be able to buy one now. As my boss has a habit of saying, timing is everything.

And does anyone have suggestions as to which retailers might still have stock? There are several CS pens I would spring for if I could find them.

Vanness, Bryant at Chatterley Luxuries and RikWill had a few last time I looked. Don't know the European vendors who might. Pengallery.com in Malaysia might.

Thanks, Ghost Plane. I just looked at Dromgoole's site, and they show some, also. I emailed them an inquiry. Hope to see soon if they have what I want, and I'll try your suggestions, as well.

I thought Onoto had taken over CS?

Nope. Alistair Adams and David Cooper had additional jobs a CS to try to assist CS. I had hoped this would improve maters at CS, but sadly it appears that they did not have sufficient time.

I don't think that Dromgooles has any....but call Larry to see for sure. Vanness has them on their site.

Just going by what I see on their website, but since it isn't interactive, I can't tell whether they are in stock. So I emailed them, and I am still awaiting reply.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
