Two Pen Sleeve

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a two pen sleeve for my Rotring 600's (Newtons, Lava). I typically carry only one around (FP) and keep the other at my desk (rollerball) and use a single pen sleeve (Aston Leather). I am finding that I am needing to use the RB more and more, so I am trying to find a decent two pen sleeve but can not seem to find one. The Aston Leather one does not have a divider between the pens, and I found the one pictured below but only comes in tan. I would prefer to have a black leather case. Any help in finding one would be great! Thanks.

Have you considered instead of a sleeve going to a flap-over case? It would expand the universe of choices significantly. Another design type would be zipper cases. I guess it depends on personal taste, budget, and how you carry. e.g., if in a briefcase/pack/bag vs in a suit-jacket pocket

Personally besides Aston I have a real liking for the Pelikan cases.

I have a few flap cases and grabbing a pen quickly seems to be a issue sometimes, also I find that pen sleeves are thinner and easy to carry in my pocket all day.

What brand is the sleeve in your photo?

I took a Coach pen case that did not have dividers and constructed little dividers out of cardboard for my Rotrings, see the pictures below, everything fits!

Thanks Agpatel

I have been looking for a simple pen holder and your post put me on the right track I am thinking of 10 to 15 slots it will be soft enough to roll and fit in one of my leather cases.

Here is my black case maybe I should have made it a little longer as my 51's just fit

I have this sleeve in red, and it fits all of my pens nicely, including my longest ones. And it is on clearance for $15. No affiliation . . .

Thank you for this link! I've been looking for a 2-pen case as well, but I have been put off by some of the designs as being not quite right, as least for my purposes. I like the case in this link for being a snap closure, having separate compartments, easy access, and that it can be used open or snapped closed. Oh, the price is right, too.

Yes, indeed - the price was the capper on this one! I also got a "shorty" single pen case to hold my Passporto. I'm not sur ether even carry those anymore.

I did see that "shorty" case on their clearance page, certainly a good idea for pocket pens. I'm pretty happy with the Aston single pen sleeve I've got already. I was thinking about the Aston double sleeve before but it does not have a separator. I really wanted to stay with the slip/sleeve style. I did go ahead and order the SJ&E double sleeve and got a shipment notice already. Something in the mail to look forward to this week!

Incidentally, do you have trouble with the leather dye transferring or otherwise misbehaving? The colors seem rather bright and saturated. It could be I'm just a nervous Nellie...

The case you have shown is made from English Kip leather it takes dye very easily especially black.

You could also find someone local to you and have one made I don't think it would cost a great deal.

What he said - just make sure there's no acrylic finish sitting on top of the leather (ask the manufacturer) and clean well with denatured alcohol or ammonium hydroxide. That'll remove grease and allow the dye to penetrate the leather more evenly. After dyeing, apply some kind of finish (wax balm, for example).

Cheers,

Adam

I've not had a problem with the leather colors transferring to anything else. The shorty is royal blue, and is usually carried in my purse (whichever one I am carrying that week) or in my pocket, and I haven't noticed a transfer in the bag or on my hands. The red two-pen case gets carried in whichever messenger or tote bag I am carrying that week, or whatever else I have transferred my pens to. Have never noticed a problem with the color on my hands, nor does it rub off on paper or my lapboard when I have it out.

Enjoy!

I am enjoying it, actually...I did receive the "cerise" two pen sleeve last week, and it is well suited to what I need it for, keeping the two pens I need at hand as I go from room to room or occasional out, where they are well protected (and upright) in the loose mess inside my shoulder bag. Thanks again for the good lead!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
