Yes I Am Still Alive And Kicking....sorry For The Inconvenience.

Due to my professional duties and some other projects (I have to travel alot to the French border), any activities concerning my iron gall ink brewing (Urkundentinte, Darkening Absinthe, Turkish Night, Terra Incinerata, Sang Real, Purpura Imperialis, Oriens-Occidens) has been ceased till I have some spare time to supply you all with the inks.

My apologies for not having address you all personally, but It was practically impossible to do so. Anyhow: the good news is, that I will certainly recommence making ink....but don't ask me when  . I have a considerable waiting list to begin with....

Great to hear from you! I'm another fan your inks. I have enough to last me for a good while but it's nice that it will be available again in the future.

I have heard of you, immensly.

Where could I get to see the colors you propose I find very poetic all the names you gave them)?

Hello Pharmacist

I like very much your inks, and I am trying to replicate the US Standard ink but I have some trouble with the dyes... what dyes are you using to get that fancy colours? I was thinking in food colorants or in some china ink "water soluble" than is selling here in Chile.
Thank you very much.

Uh, this thread is 3 years old, so you're actually necro-posting.... I haven't seen much from Pharmacist for a long time (other than him popping up a couple of years back to say he'd been having attacks of life and a lot of travel for his job). Much as I'd love to see him resurface again, and know he's okay. And that he's been busily brewing ink (my little bottle of Turkish Night isn't going to last forever, even with me hoarding it... ;)).

I suggest to have a look at the IG inks offered by KWZ.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
