Friends, hope you all are well.

We are thinking of having our Ann Arbor Pen Posse meet after Michigan Pen Show, so how does Sunday, October the 26th, look to you guys. We will meet at the same place we met the last few times, ie, at the Sweetwaters Cafe on Plymouth Road.

Please post a reply and let me know if Sunday, Oct 26th is a date that works out for you.

Thanks.

-Sid

I need to double check my dates... it depends on a few things, but would love to make it.

I'll need to play it by ear. We're planning on switching over to new software at work that weekend and I'm scheduled to be there. We'll see if that actually happens, or if it is delayed yet again.

I will, however, most certainly be at the pen show -- both days. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I have an offer to anyone that turns up... as long as I can get there...

I recently brought my wife a Pilot Metropolitan, I thought I had ordered the medium nib but it turned up with a fine nib. When I went back and checked my order... I had ordered fine... I feel pretty dumb right now... :wallbash:

So what I am proposing is that anybody owning a Pilot Metropolitan with a medium nib that wanted a fine before they were available in the US, I will do a straight up nib swap :ninja: .

The 26th won't work for us. We're hoping to get to the pen show on Friday, but we have another commitment with an early start on Saturday, so we'll probably be playing it by ear.

Well, since Jenny, Rachel and 3 other people cant make it to the Pen Posse meeting in October, how about we meet on Sunday, November 2nd, instead? Let me know.

Well, there is a new topic, since we have decided that well, we will be meeting on November 2nd, instead of in October.

See you all in November.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
