Replacement Lamy Safari Feed?

mitaccio

I know the Lamy Safari isn't an expensive pen, but I don't want to replace it. I accidentally damaged the feed under the nib and it isn't writing like it should. It's skipping and slow to feed. Where can I get a replacement feed for cheap?

I wish i knew the answer to this. I have a Lamy Orange Special Edition (with a special club logo) that is leaking. I can't get the feed out. Neither can my pen guy. I would ordinarily just shrug and toss it but it IS ORANGE. And has a red fountain pen club logo on it. The cute little circular cap top thingy. ...

Send it to the Lamy distributor in your country....or to Lamy in Heidelberg. It will be fixed for free.

I would be tempted by that. Put a black front on the Orange pen turn it into a pumpkin pen. haha. Sadly I can't buy from them. My paypal address is in the US (where I was when I made it) and I am now here in Korea so they won't sell to me unless I change my ship to in paypal and paypal won't let me change it to an non US address. Hate paypal. oof.

I might do as Bo Bo suggests. Ordinarily I wouldn't care but it is a special run pen for the Fountain Pen Club in Seoul and has the club insignia on it.

  • 2 years later...

I found something interesting on Aliexpress. I was looking for a EF nib for my Al Star and the seller sells this feed. I ordered 10pcs just for fun.

I tried it on my Al Star and it fit really well. Comparing to the original feed, their design are not exactly the same but size is the same.

I tried it also on Hero 359, Yiren and few other Safari and Al Star clones and it fits nicely.

for the record. since we are responding to stuff (why?) from 2014. At the time of this post, I did send the pen to Lamy in Heidelberg for repair. Paid for shipping would gladly have paid for repair and return shipping.

Nothing. No repair, no reply. I followed up with emails all of which were ignored.

I am sure the person in Germany opened the package, shrugged, threw my Safari in the trash and that was that.

That is some serious bad luck that is. I had once contacted Lamy support due to a defect in my pen, it was completely ignored. As much as I like their pens, Lamy doesn't seem to take their customers seriously.

Always use some kind of tracking mail. In the US, we have certified mail, return receipt requested.

That gives proof of delivery.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
