They are here.... including the Schiller I happened to luck upon on Ebay on Sunday with a few hours to go, and win at a price of under $700, and 2 Deltas from Bryant.

congrats on the pens

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Thanks!

I have to admit - waiting to unpack lasted all of a day. The Star Cage carbon is inked now, the Chatterly Skeleton and the Schiller are next up.

Here's the one I currently have inked with me on my road - a Delta Momo Carbon Dreams with a 1.1 stub:

It was a tossup as to which version of this i wanted - in the end, I went with this combo b/c that orange is Delta's iconic color and as a cyclist, I have a fondness for all things carbon fiber.

It is presently filled with Waterman Green - i had tried R&K Verdura but was having significant flow and skipping problems. I de-inked it and washed it out first (which I suppose I should do with all new pens but which i never do). I also used a blade to spread the tines a little - that seems to have solved the ink flow issue.

It isnt the most perfect of writers - the stub is a little touchy about orientation and also needs to be held a little differently from my other stubs. But once that is out of the way, it writes quite well. Over the past week and a half I've had it inked, its slowly become less and less finicky as a writer. But not enough to be a favorite. My Visconti Divina Red, also purchased from Bryant, has an equally wide stub but is a far better writers. I think it is going to John Sorowka one of these days.

In terms of looks, however, wowie. It is a rockstar. I have a couple of other Deltas - an Inuit C/C and a Blue Moon Gallery, and both of them write really well, but for whatever reason havent grabbed me (which is why the Blue Moon Gallery is on sale in Classifieds, and the Inuit may follow it soon). This one feels a lot better in the hand even though it is approx the same size. Once I get the nib fixed, this is going to be one of my favorite pens.

Photos and reviews of the other 2 next week, once i finish the ink in my current pens and switch to my October set. Those are a Chatterly Skeleton and a MB Schiller.

This Delta looks fantastic ..... As I like the italian pens, I'll have a look on it next time I'll go to my dealer's shop ..... And who knows? Perhaps will it be .... My next pen .....

I personally wouldn't think carbon fiber would look good against old fashioned resin/celluloid. It looks very nice indeed! Great design.

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

Thanks, peeps. The pen looked really nice in the photos but is absolutely amazing in hand. Mine is the Delta with the Fusion nib, Bryant also has a Chatterly version of this pen with a gold nib.

That Delta Momo looks great! Carbon Fibre looks awesome against the orange (objectively the best colour :P ).

The Highlander was a documentary, and the events happened in real time.

Well, here are the other 2: the Schiller (which got jumped in the to-be-inked queue by the MB Jules Verne) and the Delta/Chatterley Skeleton.

15430374755_f7d56920e4_c.jpg

I currently have the Skeleton inked with Yama Guri. I have to say, I was not very impressed with the way this one wrotes when I inked it up. If I held the pen with my right hand and pulled it across the page, it worked really well, but unlike Inigo Montoya, I am not right-handed. I am a leftie overwriter and with my typical writing style, it had uneven ink flow and didnt put out the constant, wet line that I like unless I pressed down with the nib (I have a very light hand when I write). I've since rinsed it with soapy water and that has helped, but it is still barely an adequate writer, just like the other Delta above. If it doesnt improve, both these Deltas are going to take a trip to John Sorowka.

Visually, however, it is a beauty. I have a Stipula Tendril as my only other skeleton, and I have to say, this one runs circles around the Stipula visually. Whatever effort I may have to make to get it writing just the way I want to will be worth it. I have mentioned in other threads that I am trying to pare down my collection, and both these Deltas - but especially this Skeleton - are going to make it into whatever shorter list I end up with.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
